On Saturday, November 29, 2025, my very first Book Signing Event took place at BetterWorld Café in Milford, PA.
The event happened during Thanksgiving Weekend, in a place that feels very close to my heart — my favorite café in town, and a space that invites conversation, warmth, and connection.
It was the first time I sat behind a table not just as myself, but as the author of Karina: One Woman’s Journey from Fear to Freedom, ready to meet readers, share my story, and sign books with personal dedications.
And then… it happened.
I saw some familiar faces.
I met a few interesting people.
I shared my story.
I connected with others who offered to tell me their story.
Most important though…
I did it.
I did not hide in the corner, but sat there, in this situation so unfamiliar to me, doing something I have never done before, smiling to strangers and trying not to feel like an idiot.
It was hard. With the time passing, I relaxed more and more. And the smile became more natural.
I left the event with pain in the pit of my stomach, feeling proud, while telling myself and others,
“My First Book Signing event was a Success!”
This afternoon was not only about books.
It was about courage.
About showing up.
About choosing connection over hiding.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who stopped by — whether to buy a copy, ask a question, share a story, or simply say hello. Each conversation mattered more than you know.
This was my first book signing.
And it will not be the last.
With Love and Kindness 🤎
Karina
